Theme for 2026

We will be recognizing the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion as our theme for 2026. Check back soon to see our shirt designs. Canadian Coast Guard has won the right to name the 2026 charity as the champions of the Battle of the Badges.

New Course for 2026!

Although runners from out-of-province were thrilled with our course for the last few years, we have reached the point that we can no longer sustain the level of effort to set up, and marshal, such a wide-ranging downtown course. Our new course is safer, easier to set up and manage, and has allowed us to add a 5k event. It features a lower elevation gain, 50% increase of distance in the Park, and has enhanced opportunities for your supporters to follow your run. Check out our new routes. We hope you like them!

Raise

Raising Funds for Charities

All proceeds from the USR are donated to the charity chosen by the previous year's Battle of the Badges winner, the Canadian Coast Guard in 2025. The Canadian Coast Guard has chosen to split the donation to be generated by this year's event between the Legion's Poppy Fund and the Nevaeh's Angel Foundation.

Presentation to Islaview Foundation

The recipient charity for USR 2025 was The Islaview Foundation in memory of Kaiden Little. The amount raised was $15,878.21.

Final Results & Photos 2026

Sam Harle was marathon champ in a time of 2:48:22 with Elena Klippenstein claiming the women's title in 3:31:54. Other winners on the day included Ben Collingwood (1:15:08) and Kate Bazely (1:18:35) in the Half-Marathon, Adam Guy (36:17) and Laura Lawes (42:07) in the 10k, Ethan Walsh (18:41) and Megan Adams (20:48) in the 5k, and Four Fox Sake (Tim Murphy, Mike Roberts, Peter Thompson, Ryan Quinlan) in the Marathon Relay.
